EFFECTIVE PLANNING
Create a study timetable that breaks down your study plan into manageable sections. Follow the exam timetable to align your sessionsaccordingly. Ensure that all your study materials are available for your study including class notes and past exam papers.
ACTIVE LEARNING
Seek to actively engage with your study material. Read your work out loud, record yourself while breaking down concepts or summarising, do your calculations slowly following each step, make some room for movement and write things down.
CONSISTENT ENGAGEMENT
Ensure that you follow a continuous study schedule that allows you to keep learning for better understanding. Diversify your study methods and include reading, note-taking, practicing, using flashcards etc.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Ensure that every study material is up to date. Establish exactly which sections or each course yol must know for exam purposes. Set a timer during your study sessions and a time while answering past exam questions or self-study questions. Be practical and use Time To answer exam questions sufficiently. Include rest breaks in your study timetable.
REGULAR BREAKS
Mental alertness is crucial during exam time. Take regular breaks to help your mind and body to rest, assimilate the information and store it in your short-and long-term memory for immediate or later use. It is vital to allow your mind and body to get enough rest to avoid burnout.
SELF ASSESSMENT
Use your study materials to set short tests and regularly assess your understanding of course content. Note down and practice potentialanswers for different questions. Work through past exam papers in detail and use them to test yourself.
