The journey from high school to tertiary education is a pivotal transition in a student’s life. It’s a path filled with challenges, from identity to mental health, substance use to gender-based violence. These hurdles can impede progress and learning.
This is where organizations like Higher Health step in, offering unwavering support to ensure that students have a seamless journey as they pursue their career dreams. At Higher Health, we’re not just an organization; we’re the friends students can lean on.
Alucia Khosa, a former Health and Wellness Coordinator at the Gert Sibande TVET College knows firsthand the trials and tribulations students face. She’s seen how family issues can follow students to college, making it difficult to stay focused on academics.
Alucia shared her experience:
“Working at Higher Health was not only a professional but a deeply personal journey. I found my passion and commitment in everything this organization stands for. Serving the students of Gert Sibande TVET College was an incredible experience. To this day, the young adults we support hold a special place in my heart. Being part of their journey toward positive change was truly fulfilling. Thank you, Higher Health – you will always have my heart.”
Alucia’s story is a testament to the impact Higher Health has on students’ lives. We’re proud to have been part of her journey and the journeys of countless other students.
