Recently, Higher Health teamed up with the University of Cape Town (UCT) for an impactful capacity-building initiative. The focus? Raising nationwide awareness on Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Our workshop, brilliantly led by Oziel Mdletshe and Stephanie Hendry from Higher Health, in collaboration with the UCT team, was dedicated to arming student leaders with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively combat GBV in South Africa’s higher education sector.
The result? Empowered student leaders, now equipped with the tools to actively contribute to a safer and more inclusive campus community.
During the workshop, they were introduced to Higher Health’s new Guidelines and Protocols on GBV, reinforcing the commitment to ending GBV in South Africa’s educational institutions. Our aim is crystal clear: #LetsEndGBV, because #StudentLivesMatter.
