Accessible SRH services are essential for students. The Demographic and Health Survey of 2016 found 16% of women aged 15-19 years had given birth or were pregnant, and the median age at first pregnancy was 21.3 years.
A survey of TVET colleges undertaken by HIGHER HEALTH (HEAIDS) found that 32% of students have been pregnant or made someone pregnant – and 75% of the pregnancies were unplanned.

There is, therefore, a strong possibility of pregnancy interrupting the studies of young women and every woman student should have convenient access to a choice of contraceptives. Other SRH services are: treatment of STIs, referral for medical male circumcision, termination of pregnancy, antenatal care, and screening for breast, cervical and prostate cancer.
