Biography

Amanda is a licensed Registered Counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). She holds a Higher Certificate in Career Development and Bachelor of Psychology degree (Honor’s equivalent) which she obtained from the University of Zululand. She also attended a short course/training in mentoring and coaching at S.t Colonel Graduate Institute.

During her final year she worked part time with the department of Social Development as a research assistant, her role included working as a fieldworker where she collected data, recorded data,
transcribing, interpreting, and analyzing the research results, and using the research results to write reports.

After completing her studies, she executed an internship as a career guidance officer at a Post- School Education and Training sector ni Coastal KZN TVET College. Prior working for Higher Health, she worked at the Department of Employment and Labour as a registered counsellor intern in Pietermaritzburg Labour Centre. She has gained a valuable experience ni career counselling, psychometric assessments and in psychotherapy.

Amanda has a proven work experience working with students’ late adolescents/young adulthood and beyond. She si very passionate working with them because she believes they have a mutual understanding and it si very easy to establish rapport, and ni terms of her guiding and supporting them with their emotional and psychological problems because she si her age group.
