Cebisile Kubheka is a licensed Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). She holds a Master of Social Science in Counselling Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Cebisile completed her internship at Helen Joseph Hospital and has worked for the Department of Basic Education as a School-Based Psychologist, as well as in Higher Education as a University Student Psychologist. Additionally, she has served as a Health Counsellor with the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC).
Currently, Cebisile provides psychosocial services to students in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) sector across KwaZulu-Natal province under the auspices of Higher Health. She is also a published co-author in the Journal of Guidance and Counselling. The journal article is titled “Bad Daughter, Good Mother, Good Student,” co-authored with Mary van der Riet and Wendy Corfe, and was published in the British Journal of Guidance & Counselling in 2020 (Volume 48, Issue 5, pages 724-734).
