Biography

Hope studied for my Bachelor of Social Science and completed my Honours in Psychology at the University of Fort Hare, Alice campus, graduating as an undergraduate in 2019 and obtaining my Honours in 2020. She then moved to the Fort Hare East London campus, where she pursued my Master’s in Social Science with a focus on Counselling Psychology. Following this, Hope completed her M2 internship at the Psychological Service Centre (PSC) in East London, where she gained valuable skills in individual psychotherapy, play therapy, counselling, career guidance, psychometric assessments, oral presentation, and both peer and professional training.

Hope is trained and knowledgeable in Gestalt therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. During her time at the University of Fort Hare, she worked as a sub-warden at the Residence office for three years, managed a sports team for five years, and served as a Course Facilitator as well as a Time-task lecturer in the Psychology department.

An abstract of her Master’s thesis, titled “A Systematic Review on Published Literature Examining the Impact of Father Absence on Adolescent Identity Formation,” was presented at the 27th Annual South African Psychology Congress in October 2023. She enjoys working with children, teenagers, adolescents, and young adults. Hope aspires to return to university to pursue a PhD in Sport Psychology.
