S’phiwokuhle Matsebula is a licensed counselling psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Her goal is to make mental health a way of life. She holds a Master’s degree in counselling psychology and has an educational background in HIV/AIDS care and counselling, including a BA in Social Science with honours in psychology and a BA degree in psychology and sociology. S’phiwokuhle is passionate about understanding people through collaborative efforts and aims to make a positive difference in their lives.
She has practical experience working with a diverse range of individuals using a versatile approach that includes Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help navigate mental health challenges. During her time at the University of Pretoria Student Counselling Unit (UP SCU), she gained valuable insights while working with children, adolescents, and adults. She aims to educate the public and raise awareness about mental health topics. Currently, she works as a Counselling Psychologist at Higher Health, where she provides psychosocial services to students in the higher education sector across the Mpumalanga province.
